9-9-9- A Day in Dubai to remember

Well, its September finally. Not that September doesn't come every year. and not that i am waiting for some thing like Sep 11 or even that i like the song by Frank Sinatra (September song 1965). Its September in Dubai and finally i am gonna see the Metro launch. Well, i have seen the track and station construction work from scratch till final stages from my office windows for almost 2 plus years. (and have suffered road diversion, less parking space etc..). But i am excited to see it finally launched. Dubai Metro, My city My Metro.. motto is much better than all others i have come across here and at least offers a sense of "My"....I hope you know what i mean.

Its very rare in Gulf countries, when you can say some thing is Mine...So, My Metro is mine is an excellent phrase. Offers a sense of belongings towards the city.

Anyways, back to Dubai Metro. The launch is on 9-9-9. with approx 10 stations and a couple of trains.

With sceptics around the corner arguing about the success (financial in nature) of Metro project. I think they infrastructure projects are usually made for long term development, increasing the landmark numbers, prestige and of course a sense of ultra modern technology entering our daily lives.

To all other critics of Metro, i would say only one thing.... This is a electric metro running in straight (and some times zig zag) tracks in a Desert... Yes.. Desert...Please at least appreciate the fact that Dubai is running a Metro in a desert , instead if Camels trains....

We look forward for the launch and pray for the success. Cheers, Dubai...and the rest of the crowd...

Is Sega republic really Open in Dubai !!!

Boy... I was waiting for that for a long time. and now i hear that it is almost done. heard from another blog actually..

have no idea... why they are not advertising...hmm, no marketing budgets....sad..recession bites and it bites bad..

Anyways, this post is more on Sega republic and not on economic fundas and jandas. I love games and i love people who love games. (literally).

It would be nice attraction in Dubai. Finally a place where u can go and forget the time and the heat and plenty of use less coffee shops. Some thing Fun and thrill.

I have no idea of the ticket cost, but it should be as low as possible. Gaming is about numbers.. more people , more addiction...instead of high priced tickets, less crowd, zero thrill. I hope some one is reading this...

So, till Then. chill out.. Keep Playing..

Are the US Stocks Bottomed Out

I am not going to post any chart today. This is more of a commentary on what is going to happen in the US Stock market going forward and its impact on the US Dollar. Now i am not going to convince every body that market has bottomed out, the angels are falling from sky to help investors and the Obama is the superman for a nation in debt. Certainly, nothing has changed since Nov 2008. I believe that market is waiting for another leg down. This time, however, its going to be slow and steady downward trend. I see the DJI level of 8000 as medium term bottom/support. The next leg down should cover another 1000 point of DJI. That is expected to happen when the earnings season is fully over, oil drops again to US $ 35 levels, and Obama administration fails to attract Congress.

Now, on FX, as this forum is focused on Forex moves/charts. I am forecasting a one sided view here and not being Technical for a while. Fundamentals suggest that US dollar will be the superhero for the next 6 months as i see Euro to dive to 1.20 or below, GBP down @ 1.20-1.25, CAD 1.35.

This is based on the following. US has already lowered interested rates to near zero. Other are going to follow that soon. By Dec 09, ALL G7 will have zero percent Interest rates. By that time, i believe that the US will start increasing to tighten inflation issues.

The risk aversion continues to dominate.

Euro and GBP loses their charm as safe deposit Assets. I have a feeling if a European nation goes bust, may be the fate of Euro is in doubt and then a dive to parity may be.
